At the end of the 1800s, when guests came to Villa Massa, tradition dictated that they were offered a liqueur made from the fruit of the family lemon grove.

The brothers Sergio and Stefano Massa founded the Villa Massa company in 1991 with the intention of making this liqueur accessible to everyone. Thus was born "Traditional Villa Massa Limoncello", which is now well-known all over the world.
Respecting the old family recipe, but using efficient modern production techniques (the company, who are the leaders in their sector, received regulation ISO 9001:2000 certification for their quality control system), Villa Massa entered the market and started slowly widening their range of products to include other types of traditional Sorrentine drinks.

With scrupulous care regarding raw materials, using only lemons from the Sorrentine peninsula (which have recently been the subject of European care of the geographic location), and equal care as regards packaging and customer service, Villa Massa have become the foremost company among producers of "Limoncello".
Villa Massa products, on offer at the most prestigious events taking place in Naples, such as the G7 summit in 1994 or the visit of the Spanish royal family in 1998, have for several years been available aboard the aircraft of the Alitalia fleet and also in the most prestigious restaurants, hotels and wineries in Italy and the world.
