The new alcoholic sorbet that refreshes Italian summers

Sgroppino is an Italian cocktail made of sorbet, prosecco and Villa Massa Limoncello: the combination makes a delightful digestif, as well as a slightly sparkling and very tasty drink.

The restorative power of lemon, the joy of bubbles and the refreshing energy of a sub-zero drink: with summer come the Italians’ eating and drinking habits, including Sgroppino, an ancient long drink from Venice that dates back to the sixteenth century and is now undergoing a Mediterranean-flavoured reinterpretation. An alcoholic version of the classic lemon sorbet, enriched by two Made-In-Italy classics: prosecco and Villa Massa Sorrento Limoncello, made exclusively from Sorrento PGI lemons, which create an all-Italian cocktail for a particularly fun and refreshing touch between courses or at the end of a meal.

Sgroppino is a very easy cocktail to prepare: in a blender, combine 35ml chilled Villa Massa Limoncello, the juice of 1 Sorrento PGI lemon, 50ml prosecco DOC and 1 tablespoon of lemon sorbet. Blending all the ingredients for 2 or 3 minutes will give you a fizzy and foamy drink to be served in a champagne flute, garnished with a slice of Sorrento PGI lemon or a thin slice of its peel. Enjoy it as a refreshing interlude between courses, or at the end of a meal as a surprising digestif.
