The Sorrento Peninsula is the ideal destination for anyone who loves good food.
It’s a hub for the production of some of Campania’s best local specialities, and food and wine trails help you to discover ancient flavours and historic liqueurs. By touring the Villa Massa lemon grove, you can see with your own eyes how the traditional Sorrento Limoncello is crafted, from the harvesting of lemons through to the bottling of the liqueur.
The guided tour opens the doors to both the lemon grove and the factory to the most inquisitive and enthusiastic visitors: you will take a stroll along the panoramic terraces of the historic lemon garden, soaking up its thoroughly Mediterranean ambiance of colours and scents; you will meet the farmer, who harvests lemons by hand every day with great patience and dedication; and you will discover how Sorrento’s prized lemons are transformed into the Sorrento Peninsula’s most delicious and traditional liqueur.
You will be accompanied by a guide supported by audio clips transmitted via radio, in which professional actors explain the cultivation techniques used to grow Sorrento PGI lemons by quoting writers and historical reports, with musical interludes and extracts from interviews.
The visit will conclude on the panoramic terrace that overlooks the Gulf of Naples, where Villa Massa will invite you to enjoy a limoncello tasting.
